Tamil School

The New Zealand Thamil Society conducts Thamil Classes from 1983 till date for the children of Members, with the help of Voluntary teachers.

The Sangam tries to achieve the following objectives.

• To equip the Tamil children with the capability to have a working knowledge in reading, writing and speaking Tamil.
• To prepare the children for appearing in the International Tamil Exams.
• To provide a platform for interaction with other Tamil children in Auckland.
• To continue and carry the activities of New Zealand Tamil Society in to the next generation Tamils of Auckland, New Zealand
• To facilitate the continued connections with the children roots in Sri Lanka..
• To facilitate the capability and sense of appreciation of our culture, tradition, language and literature.
• To provide a sense of cultural identity and pride.
• To enable them develop into a cohesive social group with high values capable of mutual support and camaraderie in addition to being good citizens of their adapted motherland New Zealand.
